DESCRIPTION:This Friday\, May 20\, from 6-9PM\, Eat Paint Studio hosts a free gallery event - Later Friday's pair sound and vision by inviting local musicians to perform in the gallery.\n\n\n	Open House: 6 - 9PM\n	Live Music: 7:30 - 8:30PM\n	Silent Auction: 12 - 8:45PM\n\nThis event will also feature a silent auction of the painting "Blue Skies" by artist Basia Krol. 100% of proceeds will be donated to benefit war relief efforts in the Ukraine. Silent bidding happens Friday\, May 20\, in the gallery from 12 noon - 8:45PM. The winner will be announced at 8:45PM on Friday\, May 20.\n\nSpecial Musical Guest\nLou Heneise is an American singer\, songwriter with roots in the city of Chicago\, the rolling farmland of the midwest\, and the Bible Belt of the South. All of which can be heard influencing her Electro-Acoustic-Folk-Americana EP Trial & Error. Visit: https://louheneise.com\n\nExhibiting Artist\nBasia Krol was born and raised in Warsaw\, Poland. She studied painting and printmaking at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She currently lives and works in Galesburg\, Illinois\, where she finds inspiration in the local prairie nature preserves.\n\n\n\n"Contemplation of the land\, its cycles and seasons\, are fundamental to Krol's latest body of work. Krol's exploration of the painting medium builds from visceral\, textured abstraction of marshy bogs and prairies to sinuous descriptions of tree limbs with glassy reflections in clear creeks. Throughout\, Krol cultivates a loose\, responsive handling of paint that conveys a sense of immediacy and dynamism."\n\n\n\nThe current show\, "Wildering\," will be on view through June 11\, 2022.\n\n\n\nAbout the Gallery: Eat Paint Studio is located at 5036 N Lincoln Ave in the Lincoln Avenue North Arts District (LANA)\, close to public transportation and metered parking. Chicago artist Emily Rapport opened the gallery in 2018 with an aim toward combining her studio practice with a public exhibit space. The gallery mission is to engage people in the art-making process and\, through exhibitions in its storefront gallery\, to integrate art into daily lived experience.
