DESCRIPTION:The German International School cordially invites you to the Annual Laternenfest & St. Martin's Parade at the German International School Chicago on Saturday\, November 9\, 2019\, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.\n \n\nChildren of all ages are welcome to this fun-filled fall celebration. In Europe\, "Laternenfest" (lantern fest) is a festival where children walk through their towns with lighted lanterns on the eve of St. Martin's Day ("Martinstag").\n\n \n\nGISC's Chicago celebration will start with lantern making and "Kaffee & Kuchen" (coffee & cake) at GISC in the afternoon\, followed by a lantern parade with live music at dusk\, and more entertainment and German-style dinner in the evening.\n\n \n\nTickets for adults and children ages 3+: $13 entry\, or $20 entry including a discounted German-style dinner ticket. Children 2 and under receive free admission.\n\n \n\nAdmission includes a lantern kit that children can use to personalize their own lanterns a lantern parade with live music at dusk\, entertainment\, and lots of fun!\n\n\n \n\nFace-painting as well as food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event (concession tickets are available for pre-purchase during online registration and at the event).\n\n\n \n\nPlease note that pictures will be taken at the event and may be published on the GISC website and social media and/or used for our school's marketing.\n\n \n\nLaternenfest has sold out seven years in a row and space is again limited this year\, so please make sure to get your tickets now before they sell out.
