DESCRIPTION:Youth Yoga: 6th - 9th graders\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOur youth yoga program is designed specifically for middle school kids to Freshman in high school \, providing a fun and safe environment for them to learn and practice yoga. Our experienced instructors use age-appropriate techniques to help children improve their overall well-being. \n\n\n\n \n\nYour teacher\, Bridget Iaccino:\n\n \n\nHi\, I'm Bridget! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker\, Family Therapist\, and Teen & Middle School Support Group Facilitator! When I'm not working with families and adolescents in the clinical realm\, I teach Restorative and Yin Yoga here at Pistachio Yoga. I am so excited to combine my passion for supporting adolescents and teens with yoga in our new youth yoga program! I hope to bring my enthusiasm\, love for connection and community building along with my skills for interpersonal relationships to these spaces\, helping teens not only connect with themselves and their bodies\, but with one another!\n\n \n\n \n\n___________________\n\n \n\n \n\nWelcome to a fun\, inclusive yoga class where adolescents in grades 6 to 9 will stretch and strengthen their bodies.\n\n \n\nWhy should your child learn yoga? \n\n \n\nBesides an increase in physical fitness\, some of the benefits for children who practice yoga are improved concentration and behavior and an increase in self-esteem and confidence. \n\n \n\nEach class will begin with a short community building activity so students can get to know each other and feel comfortable. Students will learn to do basic yoga poses along with guided meditation and yoga breathing techniques. Guided meditations are a way to bring the body and mind to a place of deep relaxation. It has shown to help improve creativity and problem solving. Breath regulation techniques are fun and easy to learn. They can help your child with managing emotions and stress.\n\n \n\n \n\nWhat to expect during this class:\n\n \n\nPlease arrive 5-10 minutes early and wear comfortable clothes. Yoga is done without shoes. Please bring a water bottle.\n\nIf your child has a yoga mat they can bring it with them. If not\, one will be provided during class.
